Types of Aerobic Septic Systems
While you may think that septic systems are all the same, there are variations. Finding the right one to meet your needs is what we do. We aim to provide you with the newest and greatest in modern septic systems. We’d like to talk to you about a couple of different types:
- Graveled Systems
- Low Pressure Dosage Systems
- Aerobic Systems
Graveled Systems
These systems are the oldest of the septic tank designs. Some levels of treatment of waste occur in the septic tanks, but most of the treatment occurs as wastewater is discharged from the tank. It enters the drain field and is filtered through the sediments below. Bacteria and other organisms consume any organic material in the wastewater to cleanse the tank. These organisms multiply forming a bio-mat that sits on the soil layer.
When the drain field is in balance, parasites and other organisms keep the bio-mat from becoming too thick. This maintains the tank for long period of time but eventually can lead to excessive build-up. Average use can be handled by these systems.
Low Pressure Dosage Systems
These systems are used when the soil doesn’t allow for graveled systems. They are commonly used in Texas due to the high water levels and flooding.
